Coventry City could ‘throw Daniel Farke’ again with tactical switch-up at Leeds United.

The Coventry end felt Robins caught Farke off-guard tactically.

A tactical trick to fool Daniel Farke again could be in Mark Robins’s toolbox for Coventry City’s trip to Leeds United. The Sky Blues took four points off the Whites last season and after a difficult start to the season could do with another point on the rad this Saturday.

Writing for our sister site, CoventryLive, Coventry correspondent Andy Turner reflected on the likely team Mark Robins may put out at Elland Rod. He referenced the tactical rug-pull Robins made in LS11 last season and how it threw Farke in the stalemate.

“Tactics could also play a part, as it did in last season’s 1-1 away draw when Robins threw Daniel Farke by playing both Jay Dasilva and Jake Bidwell,” he wrote. “Dasilva operated further forward on the wing, while Joel Latibeaudiere was handed an enforcing job in midfield, both changes proving extremely effective on the day.”

Elsewhere, changes have been predicted based on the mistakes Robins held his hands up to in a 2-1 home loss to Swansea City at the weekend. Their boss kept faith with a lot of the players who pushed Tottenham Hotspur all the way in the League Cup last week and it did not work.

Turner wrote: “Well, having held his hands up and admitted he was wrong to have stuck with an unchanged outfield 10 to face the Swans, following their impressive showing against Spurs in the Carabao Cup a few days earlier, it would appear fairly certain he’ll be making changes. Whether that means going with the line-up that started at Watford, remains to be seen.

“Certainly, having been very critical of ‘one or two individuals’ without naming names on Saturday, we can expect the manager to mix things up again as he continues to search for his strongest, or most effective, line-up.”
