Clinton Morrison admits he was ‘really happy’ Sheffield Wednesday signed ‘combative’ star in summer.
Sky Sports pundit Clinton Morrison spoke highly about one Sheffield Wednesday player on Friday night, as the Owls claimed a 2-1 win at Portsmouth
Sheffield Wednesday got back to winning ways at Fratton Park, coming back from a goal behind to win in style.
Josh Windass levelled the scoring with a neat finish before Michael Smith scored a wonder strike for Sheffield Wednesday to seal the win.
Smith won the Man of the Match award for setting up Windass’ goal with a towering header inside the box, before firing home an emphatic winner.
Danny Rohl’s side now have back-to-back wins on the road, both comeback wins as well, currently sitting in 11th place of the Championship table ahead of the weekend fixtures.
Sheffield Wednesday though saw Akin Famewo pick up an injury in the game against Portsmouth and Rohl fears that it could be a big injury for the impressive defender.

Clinton Morrison hails Shea Charles at Sheffield Wednesday
One player who put in yet another commanding performance against Portsmouth was Southampton loan man Shea Charles.
He and Barry Bannan in midfield shone once again. The pair have barely put a foot wrong in recent weeks, with Charles in particular having caught the eye.
Rohl is worried about Southampton recalling Charles in January but Saints boss Russell Martin has given no indication of a possible recall just yet.
But Martin may have gotten a glimpse of Charles in action on Friday night. He impressed, earning praise from Sky Sports pundit and former Owl Clinton Morrison before the game.
Morrison said on Sky Sports: “I like him, combative midfielder who gets around the pitch, brings it up and keeps it simple. He gets his goals as well.
“And it’s just the simple pass. Sometimes with midfielders, they like to over-elaborate things, but he keeps it nice and simple.
“I do like him. He is a bright prospect. And Sheffield Wednesday, when they got him in, I was really happy.”
Shea Charles stats for Sheffield Wednesday against Portsmouth
The 20-year-old Northern Ireland international recorded 60 touches of the ball against Pompey (fifth-most of any Wednesday player), making 34 accurate passes (third-most).
He also attempted 14 total duels (fourth-most, with four won), as well as recording seven defensive actions (fourth-most, with three clearances, two interceptions, one block and one shot).
Charles has started every league game since he arrived at Hillsborough, beginning with the Millwall game in August, and having become an incredibly important player since.
