However, things could always be better. In fact, taking their sweet time with making the move to acquire Jimmy Butler left the Warriors in an uncomfortable position for a large chunk of the 2024-25 NBA season.
The lesson to be learned there would be to never rest on your laurels. Golden State could have an opportunity to get aggressive in the offseason and capitalize off another championship contender’s major decision.

Would a player like Porzingis be worth the price of admission for Golden State? The versatile center would certainly fit the team in numerous ways.
However, there would be notable pieces like Moses Moody and Brandin Podziemski heading in the other direction to make the money work. That assumes the Warriors would be unwilling to part with Draymond Green.
It will be worth monitoring if the team’s front office believes it a worthwhile venture to try and poach one of the major talents on the Celtics roster.
