I guess this is one of the few times when the fans can see the dilemma of the head coach and be quite close to the reality.
Most times, we speculate but have no real knowledge of what is going on in the minds of the coaching staff or how they want to approach the away leg and the home leg. But we can’t be far from the truth by saying the main questions are the two central defenders (two from Mepham, O’Nien, and Ballard), the central attacker to start, being Mayenda or Isidor (although both will get some time), and the midfield three (from the four of Le Fée, Bellingham, Rigg, and Neil) – assuming Mundle is fit.
There may be other permutations depending on fitness and whether RLB has spotted a weakness in whichever team we meet – but I think those three decisions are causing the most discussion in the pubs and terraces. Of course, if Alese is ready to go, that’s another helpful option, but I see the starting XI being picked from fourteen players.
For me personally – just chucking my thoughts into the hat and mixing metaphors – I’d start with Isidor, in the knowledge that Mayenda will be coming on sometime.
