Statement, manager, midfielders – the tasks Leicester City must complete before season ends

Leicester City’s early relegation gives them a headstart on next season in the Championship, but so far little progress has been made, giving them a few jobs to do in May

It’s the final month of the season. It’s a time for drama and jeopardy, celebration and despair.

Or at least it usually is. For Leicester City, their fate is known, and so their May is going to be slightly different this year.

The one positive of being relegated so early is that it gives the club an extra month to prepare for the new campaign. Here’s what they need to do to get a headstart on the new season.

Address the relegation
Two weeks on from the confirmation of City’s fall into the Championship and it has still not been addressed by the hierarchy. Two years ago, a statement was released the day after City went down. This time, nothing.

Acknowledging the relegation, giving an indication of understanding of where it went wrong, and putting forward some ideas as to how to correct those problems next time is the least the chairman can do for the supporters.

It would at least show they care about how fans may be feeling, given the club will hope they continue to turn up for the remainder of this season, and for next season too.
