Everton have just moved one step closer to signing the Championship Player of the Season

Everton are set to be busy this summer transfer window.

David Moyes is set to lose several first-teamers at the end of the season, with some leaving on free transfers.

The Friedkin Group will hand Moyes a healthy budget to rebuild the squad, which is in desperate need of attacking reinforcements, in particular.

Goals have continued to be an issue for Everton this season, and with that said, a striker appears to be top of their list of priorities.

Liam Delap is in talks with Moyes at the moment, but there is widespread interest in his signature, so it won’t be an easy deal to do.

Now, though, they’re one step closer to signing a Championship playmaker.

That said, Sheffield United’s Gustavo Hamer is attracting Everton’s interest ahead of the summer transfer window.

Hamer was named Championship Player of the Season earlier this month after netting 10 goals whilst laying on eight assists.

Unfortunately for Sheffield United, it now looks almost impossible to keep hold of him after their play-off final defeat to Sunderland on Saturday afternoon.

The Blades are expected to be forced into selling their prized asset, with Everton well-placed to land his signature.

Hamer was visibly emotional at the full-time whistle yesterday, seemingly knowing it was his final game for the Blades.
