Everton Push Forward With Attacker Swoop

Everton have submitted an offer to Villarreal for young centre forward Thierno Barry, who is high on David Moyes’ priority list, it has been claimed in France.

The Toffees, under Moyes and the stewardship of their new owners, The Friedkin Group, are determined to do well next season in what will be their first campaign at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

There are several areas where Moyes is planning to improve the squad and the new ownership is ready to back the veteran tactician in the ongoing window.Leif Davis 'Firmly on West Ham Radar' Ahead of Summer Window

Securing a centre forward is high on the Everton manager’s list, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s contract set to expire at the end of June and Beto attracting interest from elsewhere.

Everton have yet to find an agreement with Calvert-Lewin; a possibility remains that he could depart as a free agent in the summer.

Everton are working to find extra attackers and have been drawn towards Spain for an option, with Villarreal’s Barry in their mind.Leif Davis 'Firmly on West Ham Radar' Ahead of Summer Window

It has been suggested that they are preparing a bid for the La Liga outfit to secure the signature of Villarreal’s marksman Barry, who scored eleven goals last season.

Now according to French journalist Marc Mechenoua, the Toffees have refused to waste any more time and have gone into the Spanish side with a proposal.

It is suggested that Everton have offered a fee in the north of €30m with hope that it will convince Villarreal to let Barry leave.
