Incredible twist in the future of Nick Woltemade as Everton door fully opens
Everton have confirmed the main striker signing for the season, but who’s to say David Moyes doesn’t want more?
Before Thierno Barry came Stuttgart giant Nick Woltemade, as the 6’6 frontman was a key target for the needed striker position.
Woltemade is valued at £33m this summer as Moyes seemed to take a great liking to the German.
But unfortunately for Everton, despite leading the race at one point, Bayern looked to be Woltemade’s destiny.
Barry joined, and it looked like Everton’s striker search was over, but could temptation in Woltemade arise again…
Twist in Everton target Nick Woltemade’s future
With the German striker looking likely to stay in his home country, Moyes might have seen it as an ambitious pursuit.
This is after the 23-year-old was unstoppable at the Under-21 Euros this summer, wreaking havoc on every defender.
Despite Bayern looking adamant on signing the striker, Woltemade was removed from the transfer list, ending both Everton’s and Vincent Kompany’s hopes.
However, a deal was still being worked on, and Woltemade joining Bayern looked a certainty; however, what BILD reporter Julian Agardi has just said gives Everton another chance in the future.
Agardi said that Bayern have temporarily withdrawn from the Woltemade saga, with Stuttgart not willing to compromise after two bids had been rejected, and it does look like Woltemade will stay at Stuttgart, but the door remains open for Everton to re-emerge on the scene.
