NUFCBlog had suggested Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade as a potential option earlier this month, not that there had been any strong links to the 6ft 6″ striker.

But the news from Craig Hope revealed that the 23-year-old is now set to sign, with others now confirming that a £65m deal is imminent – and we are still in the market for one more striker.

Wissa on, Larsen off?
According to Sky Sport’s Keith Downie, Yoane Wissa is still high on Newcastle United’s radar heading into the final days of the summer window.

And the current plans looks to be to play the Congolese forward alongside the incoming Woltemade: an exciting big man, little man partnership at Eddie Howe’s disposal.

The signing of Woltemade also looks to have put an end to our pursuit of Jørgen Strand Larsen, with Downie citing the players’ similar profiles as to why we’re not signing the pair of them.

With how fast and suddenly we have announced this transfer, could the 23-year-old potentially be registered in time for the Leeds United game? He’ll have to be confirmed by midday on Friday if so.

…But what does this mean for Alexander Isak?
