Riley Leonard’s Girlfriend Sends Clear Message to Colts After NFL Draft
Notre Dame Fighting Irish quarterback Riley Leonard was selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL draft with the No. 189 overall pick. After an impressive lone season with Notre Dame that saw Leonard lead his team to the national championship game, Leonard is an intriguing prospect.
His team lost to the Ohio State Buckeyes in the national championship, but he showcased excellent leadership and ability on the field. Throughout the course of the 2024 college football season, Leonard completed 66.7% of his pass attempts for 2,861 yards, 21 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. He also rushed for 906 yards and 17 more touchdowns on the ground. Following the Colts’ decision to keep Leonard in-state, the quarterback’s girlfriend sent a message to the team that provides optimism and hope about his future.
He likes mobile quarterbacks who can also make big plays with their arm. Leonard can do both of those things. Bringing in a proven winner was a must for the Colts. Leonard may not play during his rookie season, but no one should completely count that out at this point in time.
