Blake Snell Delivers Pizza to San Diego Front Office, Keeping Tradition Alive
Blake Snell, now with the San Francisco Giants, has kept a tradition alive by treating the San Diego Padres’ front office to a pizza delivery. This gesture continues a practice he started two years ago, showing that he still values his time with the team. In a Facebook post screen-grabbed by Talking Friars, “Last year’s party was so much fun” and the employees were “all bummed he didn’t remain” with the team this season. However, they appreciated the pizza party he organized for them this year.
While Snell signed the card as “An Old Friend” to maintain some anonymity, it was clear to everyone who the generous benefactor was. As Snell focuses on finishing the current season strong, he is also considering his future options, including a potential contract extension or re-entering free agency.
“A deal would be nice, but I think just finishing the season strong, focusing on that is probably most important to me,” Snell said. “If that’s something they want to talk about, I’m always open to it. I’ve enjoyed my time here a lot. I know fans have been hounding me about it. But truthfully, it’s up to them. I have nothing but good things to say about San Francisco.” Discussions about a new deal have not been confirmed by the Giants’ management or Snell’s agent, Scott Boras per MLB.com’s Maria Guardardo.
