The Detroit Lions will hit the road for the first time this season to take on the Arizona Cardinals in Week 3, as they look to bounce back from a tough loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

On the injury front for Detroit there has been some concerns this week. Most prominent among them were wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown (quad) and linebacker Alex Anzalone (concussion), who suffered injuries during last week’s game. The nature of Anzalone’s injury, to say nothing of the sheer force of the hit to the head he took, automatically cast his status for this week into doubt.

Melifonwu will miss his third straight game to start the season due to an ankle injury he suffered in training camp. He has not practiced at all in each of the last two weeks, but on Friday Dan Campbell said an IR placement is not imminent and the fourth-year safety is “progressing”. If Melifonwu is unable to play in Week against the Seattle Seahawks, then he probably should’ve been placed on IR after roster cuts.
