Week 4 Best Bets: Vikings Look to Stay Undefeated vs. Packers
Week 3 was another winning week for underdogs in the NFL. Teams getting points last week were 8-7 – not only against the spread, but all eight dogs won outright. That included some big numbers: The Los Angeles Rams, Denver Broncos and Washington Commanders were all getting a touchdown or more and they pulled off the upset victories. Three teams are getting seven or more points this week – including the Broncos, who are getting 7.5 points at the New York Jets despite their upset win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last Sunday.
Well, after I went 3-0 on my best bets last week with just one of those underdogs on my list, I’ve decided to go all favorites in the Week 4 picks. And that includes taking the Jets to cover against those pesky Broncos. The Jets are well-rested after a Thursday night drubbing of the Patriots in Week 3. The defense has rounded into shape after the Week 1 loss at San Francisco and they won’t take Denver too lightly after Bo Nix and company surprised a Bucs team that may have taken Denver too lightly coming off its big Week 2 win over the Lions. While the extra rest might be good for the Jets, don’t expect it to make a difference for the New England Patriots in their game at San Francisco. The Patriots average 13 points a game – and that’s with a game against the Bengals’ shaky defense. They catch a 49ers team that will be ornery coming off back-to-back losses, and the 49ers should score more than enough points to cover a 10-point spread.
